We need to negotiate the salary we were meant to have. But... What STOPS us from being bold and articulating our value? You got the free training for salary negotiations. Yay! My intention is to CHECK in on your progress since then. So, how is it going? Now, for a lot of people, that’s an uncomfortable question. It’s uncomfortable because you may be in the exact same spot now as you were two months ago... or your progress has been so minimal that you feel disappointed and deflated. What’s the cause of the lack of progress? Why are you not where you want to be? Let’s keep digging. Have you said any of these recently? I’m afraid it won’t work. That I’ll fail. If I ask for money, my manager will think he can’t rely on me. He will go to Diane or Lily or Natalie to be his confidante. I will lose my power. I am nervous, they will think I am greedy. Now just isn’t the time. I have too much going on. I need to focus on one thing at a time. I can’t afford to rock the financial side of things for my family. You know how I know? Because that was me for many PAINFUL years. About a lot of things. Let me tell you my weight loss journey and how I got from doing nothing to actively losing 10 lbs. A while ago (a few years actually!), I signed up for Weight Watchers. I paid the monthly bill, bought the WW approved bars and snacks. Showed up to meetings. Shared stories. Commiserated. And then went right back to my bad habits of snacking around the clock or eating when I was anxious. And then complained I wasn’t losing weight. It went on for years. And then one day, I WOKE UP. That morning the weight scale made a creak sound. I am not even sure it was because of my weight or just because the scale shifted. I can tell you it took a nanosecond. From being disappointed in myself to saying enough. I must do something. No more reasons. No more blaming the circumstances. That moment was magical. Because right then things began to change. So, here is my hope for YOU. If you have downloaded the negotiation training, you know what to do. Your power is yours not your anxiety’s. You need to be in the driver’s seat of your career journey. YOU need to make the decision that no longer will you just work hard and HOPE someone notices you. You were not born to be a victim of your fears or your circumstances. You were forged under extreme conditions, and you have survived. So, you can CHOOSE – will you let your anxiety win? Or will you acknowledge the vast value you bring and ASK to be paid for that VALUE? You were meant to be UNSTOPPABLE. BELIEVE this in your BONES! Know your worth, and fight for it! Hi Reader, Most executive candidates focus on preparing the perfect answers. But after decades of sitting on both sides of the interview table, I discovered something surprising: it’s not your answers that land the top offers—it’s your ability to spot the “golden nuggets” hiding in plain sight. What are golden nuggets? They’re the subtle cues, unspoken priorities, and hidden challenges that reveal what an organization really needs. When you learn to spot them, you can position yourself as the...
You’re working very hard…sending resumes, applications, updating LinkedIn, refreshing resumes... But it’s not enough. It’s never enough. The result? Stalemate. A string of "no thank-you-s" or worst, ghosting. Working hard is not yielding any results. Why? Because, for some of us, the system is rigged. Once you acknowledge this truth, you can stop working harder towards an unattainable result and you can engineer the system to work in your favor. How? This is the story of a recent client: She...
When you first think of achieving a goal - you are so gung-ho! You start strong. But then something happens... Slowly, your energy fades. You procrastinate. Things slip away.
